For more than 60 years, Shasta Regional Medical Center has been serving the communities of Redding and Shasta County. Shasta Regional Medical Center is a 246-bed acute care hospital, offering a full range of inpatient and outpatient services and is actively involved in improving its community's health with a full-range of services designed to meet the needs of the surrounding community.
Shasta Regional is the only hospital in the North State to earn the distinction as an accredited Chest Pain Center and Primary Stroke Center, and recently certified as an Advanced Inpatient Diabetes Care hospital, the first in California and 11th in the nation.
Together with our parent company, Prime Healthcare Services, nationally recognized as one of the Top 10 Health Systems in the Country, we’re proud to have earned National recognition, but the real honor is playing a vital role in saving lives in our community.

Our Hospital
Shasta Regional Medical Center is a 246-bed acute care, medical and surgical facility with a full range of ancillary services. We have been serving far Northern California since 1945. Our hospital has a highly efficient and expanded Emergency Department with minimal patient wait times, a technologically advanced cardiac cath lab available 24/7, an accredited Stroke Team and digital (filmless) radiology services. We have more than 600 registered nurses, technicians, and support personnel working alongside more than 300 physicians on staff. Together, our staff is committed to combining the latest proven technology with personal care and attention to help our patients get better.
Licensed and Accredited
Shasta Regional Medical Center is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, the organization that sets the standards for care across the United States and we are licensed by the state of California. We are certified by the Joint Commission as an advanced Primary Stroke Center, the first in the North State to receive this designation. And we received our "Get with the Guidelines" Gold Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. Our Vascular Ultrasound Lab is the only lab north of Sacramento to be accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories, and our Diabetes Care Management program is certified by The American Diabetes Association.
